What We Do
Our purpose is "to be the custodian, modern interpreter and promoter of Quaker principles in business and the workplace". We provide a supportive network for those upholding these principles and promote our work through events, programmes, projects, speaking engagements, publications and research.
Events
Every year we run a number of annual events and one off events to support our various projects and initiatives. Our annual events are the Annual Conference, Spring Gathering and Trustees, Directors and Leaders Gathering. Events are open to members and non-members, with members benefiting from reduced prices.
Programmes
We currently have two programmes for the benefit of our members, Mentoring and Spiritual Accompaniment.
Projects
At any one time we are running a number of projects. Projects can arise from the concerns of individual members who then propose a project to address the concern. A good example of this type of project is the Tim Field Foundation, which developed out of the late Tim Field's vision of a world free from bullying. Other projects are run to produce a specific outcome, such as the Q&B publication Good Business: Ethics at Work.
Research
Quakers and Business Group is proud to sponsor and support a number of academic research projects into Quaker Business history, ethical business practices, and Quaker business methods.
Public Speaking
Members of Q&B speak about the Group's work, Quaker business heritage and their own experiences and interests. This is often done free of charge and the content of an engagement can be tailored to individual interests.
Network
Q&B provides a network for people whose experience is that Quaker principles and values should be a central part of business and the workplace.
